Einstein's owner gave him a parrot sized portion of cantaloupe, but he was not satisfied with a small piece and he helped himself to a larger portion. Cantaloupe is a very nutritious snack for both humans and parrots. They are high in fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and choline. Parrots love the sweet flavor of this delicious fruit. One must keep in mind that what is an appropriate serving size for a human is not appropriate for a parrot. A cube about the size of a domino is about the right size for a parrot. However, you have to give Einstein credit for knowing what's good and wanting a bigger piece! Einstein the Talking Texan Parrot is a silly, smart, and popular parrot who loves to talk and entertain! He knows the names of several animals and likes to make their sounds. In addition to his silly vocalizations, he likes to have conversations with his owners, talking, doing animal sound imitations and acting silly. He also enjoys singing and dancing in some of his video compilations. With his amazing talking abilities, and funny antics, Einstein the talking parrot’s videos will keep you entertained for hours! Living with a parrot is a big commitment. Parrots live a very long time. A parrot such as Einstein can live to be 50 or 60 years old. Many larger parrots like Macaws can live to be 100 years old. They all require a lot of care, proper nutrition, training, time and patience. Parrots need a lot of attention and lots of toys and activities to keep from being bored. Parrots are also expensive, a large cage is an investment and plenty of play perches to spend their out of cage time. Specialized veterinarian care is also required. Most of all they require your companionship and a forever home. Many people decide after the first few years of parrot ownership that the responsibility is too great and the parrots become neglected and sometimes abandoned. When that happens they are sent to parrot rescue facilities to be adopted by a new family or some spend their lives in sanctuaries. It is often said, "Having a parrot is much like raising a 2 or 3 year old child for the rest of your life!"

This is Abby, she’s a lab beagle mix. Abby’s backstory is that she had a tough beginning in life. Abby was rescued from an abusive hone and sent to a high kill Shelter in North Carolina. Abby was set to be euthanized, despite her young age of about a year and a half, due to over crowding. With only days left, a worker at the shelter called Jersey Shore Animal Rescue in New Jersey. The worker explained to the staff that due to over crowding they had a sweet dog but she was set to be euthanized. The shelter asked if Jersey Shore could take her if they drove her up to their shelter. Jersey Shore Animal shelter agreed to take her. Abby was at the shelter in NJ for three days. That’s where her story begins with my family. My Mother and I went to the shelter and saw Abby playing with the only toy she had, a tennis ball. Abby would go to the far end of her concrete kennel and push the ball with her nose to the opposite side. Then she would go and retrieve it! We submitted our application for adoption, the next day we were approved. Abby made herself right at home. However, she seemed sad. Low self esteem due to severe abuse. Abby would cower and shake when we would pet her. The vet explained this behavior was due to abuse. She was anticipating pain. Being a lab she was afraid of water. So I decided To help her gain her esteem and her trust in humans back. I did This by placing her on the bodyboard and having a ball drift in the pool. I would gently glide her over to her beloved ball so she could retrieve it. After a few days. Abby learned how to shift her weight to get the bodyboard to move. Abby has been an asset to our family, we adore her and hope you enjoy the video!
